Private Lessons

Frisco ISD is extremely fortunate to have an outstanding staff of private lessons teachers.  This program is designed to enrich and further the level of performance of the musician.

One on one individual instruction is one of the main reasons why orchestra programs are extremely successful in Texas.
Even though private study is not a requirement for participation in the musical organization. is should be noted that most orchestra students who take advantage of this excellent opportunity progress beyond the norm and tend to be most successful at competitions and chair tests.
It is a misconception that private lessons are for students who have fallen behind on their instrument.  While private lessons will benefit those students, private lessons are designed and intended more for students that are advancing and proving successful on their instrument.
All of our private teachers are degreed professional musicians who subsist solely from performing and teaching.  They are members of the Las Colinas Symphony,  Irving Symphony, Plano Symphony, Richardson Symphony, and more.  All of out teachers travel from all areas of the Dallas Metroplex to teach only our students. We have teachers for violin, viola, cello, and double bass (no in-school lessons for harp students).

When a student forgets their lesson, does not show up, or is ill and does not notify the teacher, it negatively impacts these people.  After the second unexcused absence (no-show), the private teachers have been authorized to charge a student for a missing lesson without proper notification (24 hours in advance).  With proper notice, teachers can rearrange schedules and not lose money.
